About Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean is a country music star who was born in Macon, Georgia. His parents separated when he was young, which led to him being mostly raised by his mother in Macon. But during the summers, he’d spend time with his father in Homestead, Florida. And this led to his introduction to music. As his father would often map out guitar chords on notebook paper to show his son where to place his fingers to play. Jason would sit and practice while his dad was at work.

He would then play guitar with his father when he got him. And soon enough, he could play songs after hearing them only a few times. And some of his early favorites included George Strait’s “The Cowboy Rides Away”, Hank Williams Jr.’s “The Blues Man”, and Alabama’s “My Home’s in Alabama”.

Both of his parents encouraged his musical growth, which led to his eventual desire to play professionally after watching the country-music awards on TV as a teen. 

Career Beginnings

After high school, Aldean and a band he formed began playing at clubs and festivals around the southwest. He began writing and recording his own original music leading to performing songs from his first album at a showcase staged by Atlanta nightclub The Buckboard. Michael Knox, then of the Warner-Chappell song-publishing company, approached Aldean and shortly thereafter Aldean signed a deal with the company. And he moved to Nashville to start his career.

Aldean Today

Aldean’s career since those early days led to many exceptional albums and many legendary shows and performances. These include his appearance at the 2019 Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum Concert and Induction Ceremony. 

But Aldean has also been an exceptional supporter of cancer research since 2004. He has raised close to $4 million for cancer research through donating portions of his ticket sales, merchandise, and VIP meet & greets. He also has a donation button on his website and participates in an annual Concert for the Cure.
